Nakasero

The Neighbourhood of Nakasero is pretty close to the town centre.  It is about a 5-10 minutes drive into town.  Most of the houses are grand and many of the larger ones have been converted into offices for NGO's and commercial use.  The area is well established with beautiful gardens.

Kololo

The Neighbourhood of Kololo is historically the old colonial area and is still the preferred area for many embassies and NGO’s.  It is approximately a 10 - 15 minutes drive into town.  Many of the gardens are large and well established with mature trees.  The area is well planned out and the majority of its roads are sign posted and in good condition (normally tarmac).  This keeps the demand for housing high and therefore the letting price follows for between $1500 - $3000.

Naguru

This is a new and rapidly developing area on the north east side of town. There are many new houses all sizes and prices. Many of the houses command good views and are close to the Kabira Club & International School. It is 15-20 minutes from town centre.

Bukoto & Ntinda

Slightly further away from the town centre, however similar to Naguru. Many of the roads are murram and without signs. 15–20 minutes from town centre.

Bugolobi

The Neighbourhood of Bugolobi is further away from the town centre. A desirable area with the rent being slightly lower than Kololo and Nakasero.  The area is well treed with wonderful bird-life. 15-20 minutes from the town centre.

Mbuya

Although it is growing it is slowly getting more popular. This hill is dotted with colonial houses that have been restored to high standards. Many houses have fabulous views of Lake Victoria and/or Kampala city. It is close to town centre and a stone throw away from the Hyper Market (Metro). 15-20 minutes from the city centre.

Mutungu

On the edge of town in an easterly direction towards Port Bell. Less developed than many other hills and some plots command excellent views of the Lake Victoria. Here you will find the best of both worlds the peacefulness of the countryside yet not too far from town. Since it is a little further out of town the prices are more competitive. 20-25 minutes from the town centre.

Muyenga, Tank Hill & Kansanga

Tank Hill is named after the water tanks on the top of the hill. It is situated on the South Easterly side of town. Depending on which side of the hill the plots normally command a good view of Lake Victoria or Kampala city. The Americans have constructed their purpose built embassy in nearby Nsambya. Between the embassy and Kabalagala you will find the best butcher in town (Quality Cuts), At Tank Hill Parade there are a good ice cream parlour , Indian restaurant & Italian pizzeria.  There is a choice of a good supermarkets in Kabalagala. This area is very price competitive; the price ranges are very variable. 20-25 minutes from the town centre.

Buziga & Bunga

Almost situated on the Lake and a fair bit out of town (south westerly direction), this area is worth the drive.  Prices are very competitive. Roads are murram and often steep. 30-35 minutes from town centre.

Makindye

Off the Entebbe Road towards Lake Victoria in the south west of Kampala. The ARA (American Recreational Association) is situated here. It is a more rural area with large properties and homes, the area is densely vegetated. Most roads are murram, except for the main road leading into Makindye. Many of the houses command spectacular views over Lake Victoria.  25-40 minutes from town centre.
